Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 25 minutes Servings: 10 wraps

Ingredients

For the Taco Meat

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 white onion, diced
  • 1 tbsp fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 jalapeño, diced (optional)
  • 2 tbsp oil

For Assembly

  • 10 large flour tortillas
  • 10 tostada shells (or 1 cup nacho chips)
  • 10 small/mini flour tortillas
  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded
  • 1 cup tomatoes, diced
  • 1 cup red onion, diced
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup guacamole
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
  • Oil for cooking

Instructions

1. Make the Taco Meat Heat 2 tbsp oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add diced onion and minced garlic, sauté until the onion becomes translucent.

Add ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until fully browned.

Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cumin, black pepper, jalapeño, and tomato paste. Cook for 8–10 minutes until the meat is well seasoned and the mixture thickens. Set aside.

2. Assemble the Crunchwrap Lay a large tortilla flat. In the center, layer in this order:

  • Taco meat
  • Tostada shell (or nacho chips)
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Red onion
  • Sour cream, guacamole, and salsa
  • Generous sprinkle of cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese

Place a small tortilla on top of the fillings.

Fold the edges of the large tortilla toward the center, overlapping in pleats to seal everything in.

3. Cook the Wrap Heat a skillet over medium heat with a little oil. Place the wrap seam-side down and cook for about 3 minutes until golden and crispy. Carefully flip and cook the other side for another 3 minutes. Press gently with a spatula while cooking.

Repeat with the remaining wraps.

Pro Tips

  • Warm the large tortillas slightly before assembling — they fold much easier.
  • Don’t overfill — it makes folding difficult and can cause tearing.
  • For extra crunch, lightly crush nacho chips if you don’t have tostadas.
  • Work in batches and keep cooked wraps warm in a low oven (200°F).
  • Customize it: Add jalapeños, black beans, or hot sauce for more heat.

Serving Suggestions

Serve immediately with extra salsa, sour cream, or queso dip on the side. These are perfect for family dinners, parties, or game nights!
