Ingredients (Makes 8–10 Tacos)
For the Smash Burgers:
- 700g (1.5 lb) ground beef (80/20 preferred)
- 8–10 mini flour tortillas
- 10 slices cheddar cheese
- Salt & black pepper to taste
- Caramelized onions (about ½ cup)
- Chosen Foods 100% Pure Avocado Oil (for cooking)
For the Smash Burger Sauce:
- 3 tbsp Chosen Foods Avocado Mayo
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp pickle juice (or rice vinegar)
- 1–2 tbsp caramelized onion
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- Salt to taste
Toppings:
- 1 cup chopped lettuce
- Extra caramelized onions
Instructions
- Make the Sauce Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until smooth and creamy. Set aside (it tastes even better after 10–15 minutes).
- Prepare the Beef Divide the ground beef into 8–10 small balls (roughly 70g each). Don’t overwork the meat.
- Smash & Cook Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat with a drizzle of avocado oil. Place a mini tortilla down, then put a beef ball on top. Using a burger press or heavy spatula, smash the beef into a thin layer covering most of the tortilla. Season the top generously with salt and black pepper. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the edges are crispy and browned.
- Add Cheese Flip the taco, place a slice of cheddar cheese on the beef, and cook for another 1–2 minutes until the cheese melts.
- Assemble Remove from the pan. Spread some smash burger sauce on the taco, add chopped lettuce, and extra caramelized onions. Fold in half and serve immediately.
Pro Tips
- Use 80/20 ground beef for maximum juiciness and flavor.
- Don’t move the taco after smashing — let it develop a good crust.
- Caramelize your onions ahead of time for deeper flavor.
- For extra crunch, add pickles or jalapeños.
- Work in batches so you don’t overcrowd the pan.

Serve hot with extra sauce on the side, tortilla chips, or a simple side salad. These are perfect for weeknight dinners, parties, or game day!
