Ingredients
For the Chicken
- 2 lb (900g) chicken breast, cut into strips
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying
For the Dry Batter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
For the Egg Mixture
- 3 eggs, beaten
For the Breadcrumb Coating
- 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
For Garlic Parmesan Butter
- ½ cup butter
- 4–5 cloves fresh garlic, finely chopped
- 2 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated (plus extra for topping)
For the Creamy Chili Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1–2 tbsp chili sauce (adjust to taste)
- ½ tbsp Dijon mustard
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp black pepper
Method
1. Season the Chicken Place chicken strips in a bowl. Sprinkle with salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well so every strip is evenly seasoned.
2. Set Up Breading Station
- Bowl 1: Mix all-purpose flour, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Bowl 2: Beat the 3 eggs.
- Bowl 3: Place panko breadcrumbs.
3. Coat the Chicken Dip each strip first in the seasoned flour, then in the beaten egg, and finally coat thoroughly with panko breadcrumbs. Press gently so the coating sticks well.
4. Fry the Chicken Heat oil in a deep pan over medium-high heat. Fry the coated strips in batches for 5–6 minutes, flipping halfway, until golden brown and crispy. Drain on a wire rack or paper towels.
5. Make Garlic Parmesan Butter In a large pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add finely chopped garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant (don’t let it burn). Remove from heat.
6. Toss the Chicken Add the hot fried chicken strips to the garlic butter pan. Toss quickly to coat every piece. Sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan and chopped parsley. Toss again until well combined.
7. Prepare the Creamy Chili Sauce In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, chili sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning.
Serving
Serve the hot Crispy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Strips immediately with the creamy chili sauce on the side for dipping. Garnish with extra Parmesan and parsley.
Pro Tips for Maximum Crispiness & Flavor
- Use panko for the best crunch — regular breadcrumbs won’t be as crispy.
- For extra flavor, add ½ tsp chili flakes to the flour mixture.
- Don’t overcrowd the pan while frying — it keeps the temperature stable.
- Toss the chicken in garlic butter right after frying while it’s still hot.
- Make the sauce ahead — it tastes even better after 30 minutes.
Serving Ideas
- As appetizer with extra sauce
- In wraps or sandwiches
- With fries, coleslaw, or garlic bread
- Over pasta for a quick meal
These Crispy Garlic Parmesan Chicken Strips are golden, garlicky, cheesy, and perfectly complemented by the creamy chili sauce. Once you try them, they’ll become a regular in your kitchen!
