Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Servings: 10 tacos (Serves 3–4 people)

Ingredients

For the Chicken Smash Tacos

  • 2 lbs (900g) minced chicken
  • 10 mini flour tortillas (street taco size)
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Oil for cooking

For the Caesar Dressing

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, freshly minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper

For the Caesar Salad Topping

  • 1 large head romaine lettuce, diced or chopped
  • ⅓ cup Parmesan cheese, shredded or shaved
  • 1 cup croutons (store-bought or homemade)

Method

1. Prepare the Chicken Divide the minced chicken into 10 equal portions. Place each tortilla on a clean surface and spread 2–3 tablespoons of chicken on top, pressing it down gently with your fingers or the back of a spoon into a thin, even layer covering most of the tortilla. Season the top generously with salt and black pepper.

2. Cook the Smash Tacos Heat a large skillet or non-stick pan over medium-high heat and add a little oil. Place the tortillas chicken side down in the hot pan. Press them down firmly with a spatula. Cook for 2–3 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and nicely browned. Flip and cook the tortilla side for 1–2 minutes until golden and crispy. Remove and repeat with the remaining tacos. Work in batches to avoid overcrowding.

3. Make the Caesar Dressing In a bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously until the dressing is smooth, creamy, and emulsified. Taste and adjust seasoning.

4. Assemble the Tacos Place the cooked smash tacos on a serving plate (chicken side up). Top each with a generous amount of chopped romaine lettuce, shaved or shredded Parmesan, and croutons. Drizzle generously with the homemade Caesar dressing.

5. Serve Immediately Enjoy while the tacos are hot and crispy!

Pro Tips for Best Results

  • Press the chicken firmly so it sticks well to the tortilla.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan — cook in batches for better crispiness.
  • Make the dressing ahead of time; it tastes even better after 30 minutes in the fridge.
  • Add extra flavor with a pinch of smoked paprika or chili flakes in the chicken.
  • For a lighter version, use ground turkey or chicken thigh mince.
